What began as our great-grandfather's humble patch of soil has blossomed into a 110-acre, fifth-generation family legacy. His philosophy was plainspoken and unwavering: cultivate the highest quality plants and offer them at fair prices. One hundred twenty three years later, our hands are still in the same dirt — honoring his commitment with every seed sown and every harvest gathered.

The first seed
A humble patch of soil
Hans Rosacker arrives from Europe and works a small patch of ground in Minneapolis, Minnesota — with one plainspoken rule: grow the highest quality plants and sell them at fair prices.

The patch of ground becomes a range of greenhouses. Every pane was set by hand, every bench filled by the family that owned it — the beginning of a habit of growing our own stock rather than buying someone else's.

The rule takes root
The whole family, one house

The family brings the tradition south and establishes a new division in Florida — new ground, new growing season, the same commitment.

"Quality control" — in print
A December 1965 feature in Southern Florist and Nurseryman puts the family standard on the record. The headline the trade chose for us was simply Quality Control — the same rule Hans set in 1903, still being enforced sixty-two years later by the generation that followed him.
